CARES Act Grant Program

Important: Brillare Beauty Institute is privileged to be participating in the US Department of Education’s CARES Act Grant Program (Section 18004(a)(1)) to financially help our students effected by the pandemic caused by Covid-19.

  1. We have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement attesting that we are using funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES and CRRSAA Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants directly to students.
  2. The total amount of funds that we received from the Department’s Emergency Financial Aid Grant for students was $191,388.
  3. As of March 31st, 2021, $199,840 has been distributed to students directly which is 104% of the overall grant.
  4. There were 156 students at Brillare Beauty Institute who are or could be eligible to participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid programs under Section 484 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and thus are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
  5. 143 or 92% of all students received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant
  6. The Board of Trustee for Brillare Beauty Institute used students’ EFC score and the number of household dependents found on the student’s FAFSA and the students’ specific financial need to continue school in a remote learning setting to determine which students received Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
  7. Upon Brillare’s receiving approval of the Grant, all students were immediately informed via email, text and on video conferences of the opportunity, the criteria and the steps needed to complete in order to be eligible for the Grant along with directions as to when and how the funds would be provided to them. Grants continue to be applied until the 50% threshold has been met which should be before the end of July 2020.
