CARES Act Grant Program
Important: Brillare Beauty Institute is privileged to be participating in the US Department of Education’s CARES Act Grant Program (Section 18004(a)(1)) to financially help our students effected by the pandemic caused by Covid-19.
We have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement attesting that we are using, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants directly to students.
The total amount of funds that we received from the Department’s Emergency Financial Aid Grant was $191,387.
As of July 6, 2020, $78,800 has been distributed to students directly almost meeting the 50% threshold we promised to meet this year. A second round of student grant applications is currently being accepted and funds are expected to be disbursed bringing the total disbursements going directly to students to be over 50% (as promised) before the end of July 2020 (within 4 months of receiving the grant).
There were 68 students at Brillare Beauty Institute who are or could be eligible to participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid programs under Section 484 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and thus are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
100% of all 68 students received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant
The Board of Trustee for Brillare Beauty Institute used students’ EFC score and the number of household dependents found on the student’s FAFSA and the students’ specific financial need to continue school in a remote learning setting to determine which students received Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
Upon Brillare’s receiving approval of the Grant, all students were immediately informed via email, text and on video conferences of the opportunity, the criteria and the steps needed to complete in order to be eligible for the Grant along with directions as to when and how the funds would be provided to them. Grants continue to be applied until the 50% threshold has been met which should be before the end of July 2020.
Placement Rates July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019
Placement Rates are calculated as follows: Total number of students who graduated in the above time frame that were employed in-field or related to their field of study divided by the total available graduates (which excludes graduates unavailable for placement (i.e. incarceration, death, serious health issues, etc.)).
Completion Rates July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019
Completion Rates are calculated as follows: Total number of students who started and completed their program within 150% of the normal time to complete the program divided by the total number of students who started.
License Exam Pass Rates July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019
License Exam Pass Rates are calculated as follows: The total number of graduates who passed the State Board License Exam divided by the total number of graduates that sat for the exam within the time frame listed above.
