A Love for Beauty at a Young Age
Harmon gained a love for beauty at a young age. In high school, she started cutting her hair, and before she knew it, her classmates were asking her to give them stylish cuts, too. Since then, she’s excelled in every wellness and beauty area, including professional skin care and other aspects of cosmetology like coloring, styling, and nail care.
Learning the Science of Skin Care
Along with love for cosmetology, Harmon is also passionate about the science of skin care. She is experienced in esthetic treatments like facials, microdermabrasion, and lash extensions. Her experience in the skincare industry makes her invaluable to the students in our esthetic training program. This program allows students to get certified in 30 weeks in various skin care treatments to be successful estheticians. The program’s course study includes:

Entering the World of Cosmetology
Harmon fell in love with the art of cosmetology through hands-on training, so Brillare students get the same chance. Our cosmetology program gives students the tools, skills, and resources to become licensed cosmetologists with the help of our hands-on training and student-run spa experience. Our cosmetologists in training receive valuable, hands-on learning experiences at a workstation where they practice on mannequins, learn the fundamentals of running a successful salon, and work one-on-one with an experienced instructor.
Finding a Beauty School To Call Home
After many years of working as a beauty professional in a wide variety of areas, Harmon decided she wanted to help future cosmetologists follow their dreams by working at a beauty school.
She toured multiple beauty schools in Chattanooga, but after touring Brillare, she knew she found a beauty school to call home. Harmon applied for the Director of Student Services role at the Chattanooga location, and the rest is history.

Brillare’s Chattanooga beauty school has new equipment that allows students to learn top-quality hair care and skin care techniques and work with clients in a student-run salon.
Cleveland, Tennessee Beauty School Main Campus
Brillare’s main campus in Cleveland, Tennessee, offers students state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with 24 cosmetology workstations, three esthetician tables, and six manicuring stations. Class sizes are limited to ensure a 10 to 1 student-to-instructor ratio, unlike most beauty schools, which often have a 20 to 1 ratio.
Keeping Students’ Dreams Alive
Harmon sees her job as a ministry that allows her to keep student dreams alive by placing them on the right path to pursue their field of choice in the beauty industry. Her role also allows her to meet with different business owners to help students secure employment after completing their program and becoming licensed in their field. For Harmon, working at Brillare is a win, and she can’t imagine a more fulfilling career.
