A Breakdown of Brillare’s Full Cosmetology Program
Whether you’re just starting or looking to advance your skills, Brillare’s program is designed to provide the knowledge and training you need to succeed. Our Cosmetology Diploma Program is approximately one year long with two levels: C:100 and C:200, totaling 1,500 contact hours over one year.
Hands-On Classroom Training and Preparation
Your first 300 hours of training take place in our hands-on classroom. Unlike other schools, our class isn’t a lecture hall or filled with books; instead, you’ll receive a more personalized learning experience.
Use your workstation to practice on mannequins, learn the fundamentals of salon management, and work one on one with experienced instructors who have been in the industry for years and come from all over the country to teach our students. Our Program Objectives
- To develop the knowledge and understanding of the theory of cosmetology, as well as the skill and appreciation of the practice of cosmetology.

In the First 300 Hours…
Familiarize yourself with introductory material, such as:
- Tennessee state exam content, along with practical and written exams
- The use of mannequins for cut, color, and advanced style techniques
- The fundamentals of working in a salon
The Next 1,200 Hours…
Build on your developmental skills and experience by:
- Working in the salon after an hour of classroom activities at the beginning of the day
- Furthering skills and content, like how to sell retail and book clients
- Developing specific skill sets and techniques
- Learning from stylists from around the country
Discover the Immersive SalonSpa Experience
After your classroom training, you’ll advance to our onsite SalonSpa. At this stage, you can develop skills like:
- Manicure/pedicure training
- All facets of hair color, cut, and shampoo/blowout
- Linking to multiple color lines and how to use color for different brands
We’ll also teach you how to work with clients, book appointments, ensure returning clients, sell retail products, and develop the professionalism that will make you valuable to any employer. Thanks to Brillare’s dedication to going above and beyond, we have a 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio! This means someone will always be available to answer any questions as you learn how to work in a real salon and perform your skills on customers.
