Beauty Trends You Can Expect to See in 2023

Beauty trends change rapidly, often making it feel like you’re playing catch up. To start the next year feeling confident and beautiful, read this blog. In it, we’ll explore some of the emerging beauty trends for 2023 to keep you one step ahead of everyone else.

Keeping Up With the Ever-Changing Beauty Industry

What’s fresh? What’s new? How can I set myself apart from the crowd? These common questions can be difficult to answer on your own. With this guide by your side, however, you can step into the new year with confidence knowing that you’re up to date with the latest beauty trends.

Beauty and Skincare Trends for 2023

Skin health is going to be a primary focus for 2023. However, next year will likely be focused on toning down the number of products we use and opting for more sustainable, multifunctional skincare products. Here are two skincare trends rising in popularity that you should keep in mind.

Skinimalism

Having spent the last couple of years in and out of quarantine, we’ve learned that less is often more. This is often true for your skincare routine. 2023 skin health will be focused on embracing one’s natural beauty rather than relying on a wide variety of products to make your skin appear healthy and glowing. Opt for high-quality products with multiple uses, like tinted moisturizers and foundations. These products protect your skin from the sun’s harsh UV rays while contributing to your skincare routine.

Clean and Natural Beauty

Sustainability has been a growing trend for the last couple of years. People are paying more attention to the effects of humanity on the environment. This concerns the beauty and skincare industry as well. As such, many manufacturers are trying to cut back on harmful environmental practices. Next year, you can expect to see a few clean beauty trends, such as:

  • More recyclable packaging
  • Less plastic
  • More solid products like shampoo and conditioner paste

Cosmetic Industry Trends

Makeup is one of the most rapidly changing elements of the beauty industry. Social media, television, and cultural trends shift popular makeup styles almost daily. Still, a few consistent trends are emerging in the field of makeup that also affect skin and hair care practices.

New Natural

The New Natural look focuses on appearing refreshed, moisturized, and clean. Its palette is based on icy blues, taupes, and soft peach colors. These colors showcase the skin’s natural highlights and underlying hues—it’s an excellent choice for both warm and cool skin tones.

This trend’s focus on moisturization seeps into skin and hair care as well. You can expect to see plenty of slicked-back hair and dewy skin care products on display.

Nocturne

The Nocturne trend is all about the juxtaposition of high fashion and grunge culture. Driven by the hit television show Euphoria, this trend includes dark onyx, lime green, burgundy, and lots of sparkles. These deep darks and bright highlights are used in tandem to create unique, standalone looks you would expect to see while out at the club.

You can also expect to see crimped or octopus hairstyles—imagine a soft-grunge 90s revival.

Futura

As the name suggests, the emerging Futura looks towards a hypothetical future to derive its color palette. Full of steely chrome, turquoise, purples, and neon oranges, the Futura trend focuses on jelly nails, colored eyebrows, and significant use of highlighter. As far as hairstyles go, imagine elaborate, futuristic braids and slicked-back looks.

Verano

Similar to the clean and natural beauty trend, Verano is about reconnecting with our natural roots. This trend features warm, earthy colors like terracotta, marigold, and sage that would blend into any natural setting. For hair and skincare, imagine buoyant curls and sun-kissed cheeks.

Trending Beauty Products

2023 beauty trends aren’t just driven by a new collection of color palettes and sustainability—we’re constantly discovering new and better ways to care for our hair and skin. Here are a few more trending beauty products you can expect next year.

Skincare Devices

In the past few years, beauty brands have seen a significant rise in the use of skincare devices. That trend is expected to continue into 2023. Devices like facial massagers, rollers, and facial masks will play a massive role in skincare. In addition, the use of light and aromatherapy devices is expected to rise.

Tinted Moisturizer

Tinted moisturizer is a multifunctional product that protects your skin from UV rays while moisturizing your skin. As we’ve become increasingly aware of the effects of the sun on our skin, we’ve learned that it’s essential to use SPF products whenever possible. As such, you can expect to see more tinted moisturizers on the shelves next year.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is derived from vitamin B3 and helps prevent the premature aging of the skin. In 2023, be on the lookout for this ingredient in skincare products—it’s gentle on all skin types, boosts collagen production, and diminishes dark circles around the eyes.

Electrolytes

Electrolytes help your body balance moisture levels in the skin and hair. Minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium are used in serums and creams to aid in the treatment of dry skin. Be on the lookout for skin and hair care products that contain these minerals. Your skin and hair will thank you for it!
