- Choose a skincare routine and stick to it.
Rushed morning routines and evenings full of homework and time with friends can wreak havoc on your skincare routine. Pare it down to just the essentials – a cleanser and moisturizer (you might prefer a lighter moisturizer for the morning and a thicker night cream for the evening) – and complete your routine every morning and night. These two extra minutes make all the difference in your beauty look.
- Incorporate warm, natural colors into your eye makeup.
As the leaves change colors, change your eye makeup colors too. This is the ideal time of year to utilize gold, rose, brown, and tan colors in your makeup looks. It’s a warm, cozy, flattering palette for everyone, especially as we begin to lose our summer tans.
- Try a vampy autumn lip.
Makeup gets more dramatic as the weather gets colder. Dark stained lips look ravishing with a paler skin tone and are easier to wear than you think. Keep the rest of your makeup simple and natural and opt for a deep red or purple lip stain or balm.
- Create your ideal carry-along makeup kit.
It’s nice to have a little makeup kit to keep with you at school in case of emergency. Depending on your needs, this can be as simple as lip balm and eye makeup remover (for mascara gone awry) or as complex as a duplicate of your entire home makeup kit. Decide what you need, buy a pretty little case that will fit in your bag, and be prepared for whatever your school days throw at you.
- Go retro with winged eyeliner.
Back-to-school is a great time to try something new. If you’ve never experimented with winged eyeliner before, this is a great trendy way to change up your look. It takes a little practice, but in no time you’ll be able to apply it on your way out the door!
